Excellent roots album from Prince Malachi produced by Mixman. Not to miss !

Prince Malachi - One Perfect LoveFour years after Runaway Slave, Prince Malachi comes with a great modern roots album released on Blakamix. One Perfect Love features 12 tracks produced and mixed by Denis ‘Mixman’ Bedeau at his Blakamix studio in UK.

Prince Malachi is not a prolific artist and it’s a gage of quality. This time, this set symbolises the encounter between this great new roots vocalist and one of the best producer in UK dub and roots scene. The result is consequently excellent. An album full of conscious and militant lyrics as on ‘The System’, ‘1966’ about Emperor Haile Selassie I visit in Jamaica in April 1966, or energic ‘Burning’ based on the same riddim as Michael Rose’ 2004 hit ‘Bingi Man A Come’.

The duo Malachi / Mixman works perfectly. And even those who are not fans of UK dub couldn’t resist to ‘Keep On Fighting’ or the powerful ‘Fire Chant’ with Prince on top form. His deep and rich voice on ‘Each One Teach One’, ‘Protect Your Home’ and ‘Read Your Bible’ confirms his reputation of modern roots messenger. One of the best release from beginning of the year ! Hoping that the dub album will come soon…
