Chuck Fender

Singjay - Born, 1972 - Real name: Leshorn Whitehead

Chuck Fender aka Leshorn Whitehead aka Chuck Fenda was born in 1972 in New York, USA.

Until 2000, he released several dancehall singles such as “Jah It’s All About You” in 1996 and “Fat Round Ya” in 1998 on Shocking Vibes Records. Since the beginning of new millenary, he turned to a more new roots style with conscious lyrics, in part due to the meeting with Devon Wheatley, the head of Fifth Element label. Since 2002, the singer, converted to Rasta, released several hits such as “I See Love”, “Cry For My People”, “I Swear" or "Better Days”. A few time after the release of “Better Days” in 2004, reuniting most of his hits, Chuck Fender left the Fifth Element crew because of disagreements on the group management. 2007 saw the release of a second album “The Living Fire” on Greensleeves.
