Biography
Book of Memory: A Rastafari Testimony is the compelling narrative by an elder who tells his story in his own voice. It is not a book "about" Rastafari so much as an encounter with Rasta consciousness.
Ever since he sighted Rastafari in the 1950s, when he was a youth working at a sugar estate in Jamaica, Prince Elijah Williams has lived a Rasta life. An oral history seven years in the making, Book of Memory is his declaration of rights, his memories of Rasta culture from the margins of Jamaican society, and through it unfolds a stirring vision of Rastafari consciousness with a message for readers all over the globe.
