Could Dancehall be the ruination of Reggae ?

Community forum on March 4th in Brooklyn, New York.

An organisation calling itself The Coalition to Preserve Reggae has announced a discussion seminar entitled « Could Dancehall Be The Ruination Of Reggae ? » to take place in New York on March 4th. Anyone interested in attending should check the press statement from the CPR below :

Debate is (already) open ! In association with ZYNC TV New york, the charitable organization The Coalition to Preserve Reggae (CPR) will host a community forum and panel discussion titled: “Could Dancehall be the ruination of Reggae and by extension, the Jamaica brand?. It will take place on Wednesday, March 4th at the historic Billie Holiday Theatre at Restoration Plaza, 1368 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, New York from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Admission is free and open to the public.

Among the artists, members of the media, government officials and industry insiders who will participate are Anthony Turner, noted journalist; Cristy Barber, V.P. of Marketing at VP Records; radio personalities Vinnie B, D.J. Elly and Carter Van Pelt, music producer extraordinaire, John “FX” Crawford, reggae artist Ed Robinson and dancehall artist Mikey Jarrett. Radio host King Simon will be the moderator. CPR will document its findings and forward a white paper to the office of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Information, Culture, Youth and Sports and the Jamaica Tourist Board.
