Roy Cousins’ UK based label Tamoki Wambesi reissues Quenchie by Charlie Chaplin on CD, a classic album from its catalogue, originally released on LP in 1982. Quenchie is one of the first albums from the deejay, with Presenting Charlie Chaplin, Red Pond and Chaplin Chant, also produced by the Jamaican Roy Cousins between 1981 and 1983.
This set marks the beginnings of the deejay, as a cultural toaster, in opposition to the majority who used to focuse on popular slack lyrics at this time. It features 12 tracks recorded at Channel One with the Roots Radics and voiced at King Tubby's, a few time after Charlie started toasting with Stur Gav Hi Fi.
